BÜRGERHAUS BÜHA gGMBH

Who we are and what we stand for.

The association Bürgerhaus e. V. was founded after the german reunification in May 1991. The association was transformed into Bürgerhaus BüHa gGmbH on the basis of the transformation resolution of 18 July 2017. An important concern of the former association and the current Bürgerhaus BüHa gGmbH was and is to contribute to a prosperous coexistence in our community. To further this purpose, Bürgerhaus BüHa gGmbH uses its professional expertise to help citizens take responsibility for improving their own quality of life. Bürgerhaus BüHa gGmbH is particularly committed to education and the reduction of xenophobia.

Bürgerhaus BüHa gGmbH is one of the three sponsors of the “Stadtteilzentrum Pankow” near Pankow Town Hall. There, the “Nachbarschafts- und Familienzentrum” and the project “Stadtteilzentrum inklusiv” are run by Bürgerhaus BüHa gGmbH. In the district of Französisch Buchholz, it runs the “Nachbarschaftszentrum Amtshaus Buchholz”. The citizens of these neighbourhoods are given the opportunity to actively participate in community work and develop their own activities and solutions for existing problems. The aim of the work with the children is, among other things, to improve the basis for their school work and to organise their own exciting leisure activities.
Within the framework of the youth exchange programme “Youth for Europe”, young people can be sent abroad through Bürgerhaus BüHa gGmbH or do their European voluntary service here for a year.

Bürgerhaus BüHa gGmbH currently runs nine kindergartens with a total capacity of about 1,200 children. The kindergartens are intended to give parents of children from the surrounding area of the building the opportunity to pursue a career. This is done with the knowledge that loving care is provided for the little ones here and that they are intensively promoted according their age in the fields of language and speech skills, social competence, environmental protection and motor skills.
